LIST 16 - DEATHS - NORFOLK ISLAND

 
 
There were 156 deaths recorded by Reginald Wright at Norfolk Island during this 'decade'. 
There being no resident clergyman on the island none of these are recorded in church 
burials registers.
 
The information recorded for each burial is as follows:
 date
 family name
 Christian name
 age
 civil status at time of death
 year and ship of arrival
 
The deaths are listed in chronoligical order.
 
There were no deaths recorded for 1797. In sixteen cases the year is recorded but not the 
exact date. There were a further eleven cases where a child is believed to have died on 
Norfolk Island but not date has been located at this time. 
 
To locate an entry on this list; firstly an alphabetical search on the name would be made 
on List 13 from which the date of death would be retrieved, secondly using the appropriate 
date, the death would then be located on this list.
