Botany Pioneer Memorial Park in Botany Cemetery, Bunnerong Road, Matraville

On the right gate post at the pedestrian entrance to the Pioneer Memorial Park about 50 meters south on Bunnerong Road, from the vehicle entrance to the Cemetery

 

The Memorial Park was created in memory of the some 2280 remains who were moved from the Sandhills (Devonshire St) Cemetery in 1901.

Only one original headstone for a First Fleeter has survived from the known 12 that were relocated.		 26th June1988
